แนวความคิด

ในระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2561 – 2563 เหตุการณ์รอบตัวมีความเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็วและรุนแรง โดยเฉพาะสถานการณ์วิกฤตด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม การเคลื่อนไหวทางการเมือง โรคระบาด (COVID-19) รวมไปถึงการจากไปของบุคคลอันเป็นที่รักในครอบครัว สภาวการณ์แห่งความขัดแย้ง วุ่นวาย หม่นหมอง และสิ้นหวัง ดูเหมือนจะอุบัติขึ้นท่ามกลางความประหลาดใจ แทบไม่ทันได้ตั้งตัว แต่แท้จริงล้วนมีเค้ารางให้เห็นมาแล้วเป็นระยะเวลาหนึ่ง มีเหตุ มีปัจจัย ซึ่งสามารถคาดเดาถึงผลลัพธ์ปลายทางอันน่าเศร้าได้ หากด้วยความเคยชิน ผลประโยชน์ และคำโฆษณาชวนเชื่อ หลอกล่อให้เราเลือกที่จะมองข้าม ไม่คิดถึง ไม่เฝ้าระวัง และไม่แก้ไข จนกระทั่งปัญหาลุกลาม บานปลาย ฝังลึก ทุกสิ่งมืดมนจมดิ่ง ยากจะปรับปรุงเปลี่ยนแปลง

ผลงานศิลปกรรมในนิทรรศการ Expected Unforeseen สร้างสรรค์ขึ้นจากจุดเริ่มต้นของวัสดุ 3 ประเภท คือ วัสดุสำเร็จรูปที่ถูกคัดเลือกให้ตอบสนองต่อแนวความคิดที่ศิลปินมีต่อสถานการณ์รอบตัว วัสดุที่ศิลปินสร้างขึ้นใหม่เพื่อสะท้อนเรื่องราวในใจ และวัสดุเหลือใช้จากห้องทำงานของ “คุณพ่อ” ซึ่งเป็นศิลปินด้วยเช่นเดียวกัน ทั้งหมดถูกปะติดปะต่อและผสมผสานเข้ากับฝีแปรงจิตรกรรม หลอมรวมความเป็นวัตถุและภาพให้เป็นจังหวะและความเคลื่อนไหวของรูปทรงและสีสันที่กระจัดกระจาย มิติความสัมพันธ์ของพื้นผิวและพื้นที่วางซุกซ่อนเรื่องราว แนวความคิด และความรู้สึกที่ตอบโต้และผันแปรไปกับความเปลี่ยนแปลงของสรรพสิ่งรอบตัว

Concept

From 2018 to 2020, surrounding circumstances have been volatile and intense, especially environmental crises, political movements, the COVID-19 epidemic and the departure of the beloved one in my family. Conflicts, chaos and despair have unexpectedly arisen amidst unpreparedness. In fact, there have been some omens for quite some time, with causes and factors hinting predictable final consequences. Familiarity, benefits and propagandas lure us to overlook and become invigilant, thus aggravating the issues which become deeply-rooted and so dire that change is almost impossible.

Artwork in the Expected Unforeseen exhibition has been created based on three types of materials: ready-made materials that meet the artist’s concepts in resposne to surrounding situations, newly-made materials created by the artist to reflect what is embedded in my mind, and leftovers from my artist father’s room. All of these materials have been pieced together and mixed with paint brushes, yielding objects and images with scattering rhythms and movements of shapes and colors. The relative dimensions of the textures and space reflect anecdotes, concepts and feelings which respond to and vary with changes of all the surrounding things.
